Journey to Eternity : Day 2 ( intensive Workshop : first half of the lecture only)

We heard the lecture yesterday and had mixed feelings,may Allah grant us the best in duniya and aakhirah.best way to start journey is with kalamaAllah.yesterday we studied about journey of soul and body,they were separated.today we have a choice , a will we can talk ,we walk, body and soul are together,but when we die there is NO will ,the soul has no will it will have to go with the angels, the body will have to be washed by ppl.so only today we have Choice ,we can do what we wish to do.
Today I read this ayat which is a comfort for our eyes, coolness of our eyes...
Aya 53: to Aya 57 Surah Zumar
قُلْ يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَىٰ أَنفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوا مِن رَّحْمَةِ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ
Say: O my servants! who have acted extravagantly against their own souls, do not despair of the mercy of Allah; surely Allah forgives the faults altogether; surely He is the Forgiving the Merciful.
وَأَنِيبُوا إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ وَأَسْلِمُوا لَهُ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَكُمُ الْعَذَابُ ثُمَّ لَا تُنصَرُونَ
And return to your Lord time after time and submit to Him before there comes to you the punishment, then you shall not be helped.
وَاتَّبِعُوا أَحْسَنَ مَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُم مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَكُمُ الْعَذَابُ بَغْتَةً وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَشْعُرُونَ
And follow the best that has been revealed to you from your Lord before there comes to you the punishment all of a sudden while you do not even perceive;
أَن تَقُولَ نَفْسٌ يَا حَسْرَتَا عَلَىٰ مَا فَرَّطتُ فِي جَنبِ اللَّهِ وَإِن كُنتُ لَمِنَ السَّاخِرِينَ
Lest a soul should say: O woe to me! for what I fell short of my duty to Allah, and most surely I was of those who laughed to scorn;
أَوْ تَقُولَ لَوْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ هَدَانِي لَكُنتُ مِنَ الْمُتَّقِينَ
Or it should say: Had Allah guided me, I would certainly have been of those who guard (against evil);
Explanation:
Allah is talking softly to the ppl,saying o my servants the ones who is transgressing the boundary, don't despair from Allah's mercy.Allah says this to the sinners,don't make the shaytan depress you, Allah says hasten to Allah,flee to Allah,Allah says you want to be the best,we are all drowning in sins and we need Allah only, innahu ghafur Rahim,HE is the Only one the oft forgiving.we need to submit,do good deeds,do istaghfaar ,somebody needs to open the doors,submission in to the doors of Allah subhaanaa wa taalaa is ,we are all scared of angels of Aadaab,but Allah says we are still breathing and we still have the chance to correct ourselves.Allah is telling us exactly,what we need to do after sinning.how Allah will deal with the sinners.
a believer will never be a loser.but if you are hiding ,having doubts then such a person is the loser,the kuffar is loser.today we are surrounded with so much fitnah,calamity, so should we not hold onto rope of Allah ?ppl say why are you telling me these scary things, but allahamdulilah it is a blessing to know than know later!we need to know this journey with Allah's names.
Al islam, Aqeedah and Amal ,from all these workshops we need to bring the knowledge into action,so write the things which you need to reform in your life,this is just between you and Allah to correct yourself,do not postpone, do not delay!
So now we will continue...the angels will be responsible to take care of the souls,Alhamdulilah how we are informed in our religion about angels taking care of the soul.look at how other religions do to their dead bodies.in islam we hasten to bury the body,even if it is in the middle of the night.prophet pbuh said hasten to bury.other religion burn the bodies,while some other religion beautify the body apply make up,islam is the best way.we learned about the journey.there are means to attain good end,even the means to attain the good end have been mentioned but above all these means it is important to have Istian billah,reliance only on allah subhanaa wa ta'alaa ,we need to hold onto the rope of Allah.Istian billah will help you in everything.
During prophet pbuh times,In one of the battles ,an incident happened,one person, a fighter in the battle field was doing good deeds by killing all disbelievers,but prophet pbuh looked at the person and said he is a person from hell fire,so the Sahabah were surprised as the man seemed to be fighting for the deen and killing the kuffar,so one of the Sahabah followed this person ,then he saw that this person, the fighter,was injured and could not bear the pain of his injury so he killed himself, committed suicide,the Sahabah said sadaqah RasulAllah meaning prophet pbuh spoke the truth.
so prophet pbuh said that you can see a man ,who would appear to be doing good deeds,doing prayers,fasting ,but still have a bad end while some appear to be drinking committing sin but will have a good end.so this means we need to always purify our heart, everything is related to heart,we cannot judge a person from what they are doing from outside,we need to ask Allah to give us good end husn khaataamaah,Allahumma husn Khaatimaah .so whatever we do we should make sure our heart is correct.a believer knows important is my heart I want the reward from Allah I know Allah is watching me always,we need to always to purify our heart, what is important,is that what Allah sees in our heart this will show at the time of our death.a religious scholar said that he was always scared that his faith will be removed from heart before death.important is the end and the end depends on your heart.how much your heart is attached to Allah how much your heart fears Allah,so have Istian billah.
Some ASBAAB to have husn Al Khatimah : means to have good end:: Always ask Allah to help you.
1)) Iqaamaa at Tauheed billah : in heart Aqeedah is very important.in islam there are two things Aqeedah ,belief and creed and the other is shariaah. Most imp is "Aqeedah,Aqeedah &Aqeedah."the name Mannaan is actually indicating Aqeedah,the important thing is Belief in Allah,Iman billah ,how will I worship Allah,if Aqeedah is wrong then everything will go null,may Allah keep us firm in Quran and sunnah .today we see around us so many sects.
Prophet pbuh said that there will be some groups who will hit the target but then it will get penetrated from outside because of corrupted Aqeedah..even if such a person has good deeds it will not be accepted.some ppl will say that Allah can be everywhere,they think that Allah can come into any creation astaghfirullah.ppl around us have corrupted Aqeedah.Priority has to be Aqeedah,as that depends on your end,good end or bad end.
What is the bad end,soooo al khatmah سو ال خاطيماة ! When the Aqeedah is wrong then everything will be wrong.so what should be done , hasten to do the Taubah, the more you do Taubah the more good end..
Surah Noor :-Allah says that o believers don't you want a good end.
The Taubah actually means by asking forgiveness of their sins.so how will you get a good end by doing the Taubah.what will make the ppl sufferings increased during the death., in agony of death there is difficulty and bad end for ppl due to their sufferings.for a believer if Aqeedah is wrong then the angels come to the dying person and the dying person will face some of the torture due to their sins, this is an expiation of sins,if someone's Aqeedah is correct but that person sinned for egs not wearing hijab, she will have agony of death as an expiation of sins.in this journey we will learn how Allah has four different purification stations for believers who have sinned and have sins.they say that for the disbeliever at the time of death the punishment will be less it will increase in the grave,while for the believers the punishment will decrease.so what should we do,don't delay ,do Taubah,don't wait to do umraah or do Haj to start hijab,don't wait but stop back biting habit,subhanaAllah we must do taubaa and taubaa,always repenting in life,
We need to do taubaa, stop doing the sin, quit the sin then repent to Allah.and not go back to it again.if we don't want tauba and do pick and choose this is wrong for egs i wear hijab when convenient then remove it on weddings!do taubaah from major sins do not delay!
Sins can be major and minor,both are difficult.for minor sins do istaghfaar from Allah,asking forgiveness from Allah.prophet pbuh will sit in gatherings and he would do 70 to 100 times istaghfaar.we should always do istaghfaar even waiting in the car...Why do some ppl have a bad end ? This is because they are postponing the taubaa,delaying the Taubah and doing the sin.for egs ,story of some musician who was growing very old,they said to him repent and don't sin anymore,leave the music now ,do ur taubah,but he did not.Allah al hadi guides us ,at tawwab will put in our heart to do tawbah.for this man he was sick and dying but he was insisting to go to the concert,subhanaAllah in this form when he started singing,he died.why!he was postponing,the Taubah!
The person how will he have good end:
Remind yourself with death, when you see the signs around you of ppl.Also before you sleep,don't you get reminded of death,sleep is a minor death,soul gets separated but not total separation.even the dua before you sleep and after you wake up, it reminds u of death, Allah sends the soul back when u wake from sleep..this is one of the means to have good end.it will make you do Taubah and do good deeds.
For bad end ,such ppl, don't want to remember the end they want to remember in duniya.So check,Look at yourself what type of group do you enjoy,do you like the company of ppl discussing aakhirah or duniya?
It is a transit to eternity ,it is the death.the love of duniya, the delights of duniya such ppl remain busy with love of duniya in the heart.so they indulge themselves only in duniya,cleaning the house day and night,that if the little child makes a little mess then it becomes qayaamat for them they scream n yell,the attitude of such ppl is that they will be jealous,when they have taaaluqq with duniya, the attachment of duniya ,day and night only with duniya,and my car and my jewelry and my garden,who will take my box of jewelry after die.real story:there was a person who loved the money so much ,he did not want anyone to take his money even after his death,obsessed about his money, so he dipped it in oil and ate it finally he died due to complications .this is putting duniya in heart!
Some ppl lives are attached to parties, some ppl busy in shopping malls,some obsessed with gardens, some with their homes,another real story that happened in Kuwait : a young married lady who loved dancing ,especially at wedding parties.ppl were encouraging her also,so everyone knew her and ppl would wait for her to show up in parties, she would wear revealing clothes and would dance.at one such parties she came very skimpily dressed,she went to the floor and danced ,then she suddenly fell on the floor, she did not move so the ppl thought if they increased the volume of music she would wake up ,so the music was increased but still she did not move,then they realized that she was dead! Since she was in revealing clothes,they tried to cover her with a sheet but could not! Every time they would attempt to cover her,the cover would blow away, there was no wind nothing, so then they called her husband,he tried to cover her but could not,so they anyway took her for ghusul ,then when they took her for ghusul could not cover her again ,they asked shaykh what should we do the shaykh said put her in the grave like that.SubhanAllah.
Love of duniya,love of music,love of cinema, if the Malikul maut will come when you are in the cinema,do you have the gaurantee where you will die.husn al khatmah when you remember the death,it will make you a better human being u turn to Allah u repent to Allah.we need to remind ourselves,we need to appreciate Allah has given us this blessing,if you remember this then you will not be miserable but you will be a better human being,it will help u guard yourself.
Ibnu Abbas said that in youm al qiyamaah , they will bring the duniya in a form of ugly old blue lady with her tooth falling,face very ugly,,then ppl will be asked do u know this old lady,people will reply ,"no we don't know, never seen her" they will be told that this is 'duniya' you were fighting for .why are ppl in clinic looking sad as they are not getting what they want,or fighting over petty issues like why u made meat and not chicken,.you are fighting for this,whatever you follow in duniya it will follow you, enjoy the duniya moderately do it for the sake of Allah,do it moderately.love your children your husband all for the sake of Allah.if I lose my Deen then that is a problem.look at what you have in your hearts,love of duniya or aakhiraah.What will they get husn Husna billah.
5) Husn Bi Dhhanbillah: think good of Allah.
Prophet pbuh said that at time of death if you think good of Allah ,Allah will give me a good end,ya rabbi give me a good sakarat,how should our relation be with Allah, very good,what you think about Allah,HE will be like that.If you think Allah will be most merciful most kind and thi s is how you will find him.ArRahman Ar Rahim.
Some ppl think wrongly,one of the major sins of the heart which can lead to bad end.
Hadith - Allah says whatever you think of Allah you will find HIM like this.
For egs in life you can accuse yourself with the sins that you do ,but when you deal with Allah then you will ascribe the best attributes.
But if someone says that I am sad Allah did not give me children, i know Allah will not give me,HE never answers my prayers,this is an example of thinking bad of Allah,this is wrong !!.on the other hand if you say I am pleased with Allah's decree Allah is Kareem ,HE is the best Planner,then this will lead to good end.
Some ppl say that they are scared of DOJ,day of judgement,as they are told and informed only about punishment,horrors of grave,this will make them think bad, so we should not scare ppl but let them see the whole picture.
Example : abdullah bin haram was killed in battle of uhud,his son was jabir.then prophet pbuh said Allah spoke to your father,he speaks to everybody with a veil except Allah conversed with your father wout a veil.
Allah asked o my servant,talk to me what you want.so abdullah bin haram said give me life so that I will be killed again for the sake of Allah.he said i want to tell ppl.so Allah revealed the verse on shuhadaa.
Don't think that the ppl who die for the sake of Allah, but they are alive .....
Another person ,Hanzala : on the first wedding night after having relation with wife he heard the call for jihad ,so he immediately went for the battle and died in the condition of janaabaa,then the angels gave him the ghusul.( there is no ghusul for shuhadaa ,martyrs but since he was in janaabaa..)
Yesterday we talked about coffin,another story, a shaykh was called by the sons to do ghusul for the father,the shaykh asked where is he,the mayaat ,in the room,so the shaykh asked who will help me in doing his ghusul ,they showed him the coffin,it was made of pure silk,extremely expensive (600 dh per yard),so the man said it is not allowed to wear silk when alive, how can you make the mayaat wear silk, after a debate the sons finally agreed for the Shaikh to bring the ordinary kafann.So they said who will help me the sons said two Filipino women and the driver can help you as they did not want to help.so the man went to the room which was a ,marbled room,spotless,shining ,very clean,that man lying down ,covered,when The shaykh uncovered him, he could see he was full of ants,shaykh was shocked and wondered where it came from! The room was very clean,then he made duaa asked for Allah's help.so he washed but still ants coming out,subhana Allah he was covered with ants then the shaykh lated asked what happened ,who was the dead person ,he was informed that the dead man was extremely undutiful to the mother ! So remember always that Allah will ask about the huquq of people.
Had he been a non believer this would have been the beginning for something worse.may Allah give us the best of everything in aakhirah!
Then when they carried the janazah, this is the Haq of every Muslim on every other muslimeen.if it is a lady her husband and brother will carry.there should be silence when carrying janazah,should not say anything always be quiet,not saying Allah hu Akbar,this is wrong from sunnah.carry silently,and must hasten to take the janazah.don't take it slowly ,around the city driving around, this is against the sunnat nabi salaalaho alaihi wassalam.Also about taking the body from one country to another delays the burial,do not delay,by taking in plane it is a long procedure,hasten to bury.wherever a person died,bury him at the earliest.some ppl go talk to the body ,they ask forgiveness,this is not done, the person is dead , you cannot talk to him!
What should we do: we should ask forgiveness for him and make duaa for the dead,. We should not read Quran and say la ilahaaillah .this is wrong.prophet said hasten to carry it to grave the destination.There is no evidence when some say that body is light means good person, no proof,wrong.whatever is not sunah is a bidaa.
Salatul janazah can be prayed for sinners,if someone has debt and he died Salatul janazah can be done,what about baby,we can do Salatul janazah four months and more baby even in the womb...miscarriages happen, four months unborn baby, we must name the baby,as they will be called by that name on the day of qiyaamaah,give them ghusul and kaffan and proper burial.what about shaheed,some scholars say that Salatul janazah has to be done.some ppl pass away in far away land,then some ppl do Salatul ghaayb,so is this allowed or not! This is not allowed this was done by prophet pbuh once ,he did this for Najashi, only as he had no one to do it,so this was not a general rule.this is a bidaah!
For the munafiqeen ,we do not do Salatul janazah..
How to do Salatul janaazah,how to do it:
Face the qibla.the imam will stand where the body's head is in the case of a man.and if the dead person is a lady then the imam will stand in the middle.
How to perform a Salatul janazaah,
Four takbiraat and one salaam.
You say Allah hu Akbar: istiaadah and bismillah then say fatihah.
You say Allah hu Akbar : then Darood sharif
You say Allah hu Akbar: dua for the dead
Then say Allahu Akbar and say one salaam,that is all.
After the four tabirat then one Salam.all details provided in the book.
This is more in masjid haram.the salatal janazah is a duaa,after this we need to bury.

Remind yourself with death, when you see the signs around you of ppl.Also before you sleep,don't you get reminded of death,sleep is a minor death,soul gets separated but not total separation.even the dua before you sleep and after you wake up, it reminds u of death, Allah sends the soul back when u wake from sleep..this is one of the means to have good end.it will make you do Taubah and do good deeds.
For bad end ,such ppl, don't want to remember the end they want to remember in duniya.So check,Look at yourself what type of group do you enjoy,do you like the company of ppl discussing aakhirah or duniya?
It is a transit to eternity ,it is the death.the love of duniya, the delights of duniya such ppl remain busy with love of duniya in the heart.so they indulge themselves only in duniya,cleaning the house day and night,that if the little child makes a little mess then it becomes qayaamat for them they scream n yell,the attitude of such ppl is that they will be jealous,when they have taaaluqq with duniya, the attachment of duniya ,day and night only with duniya,and my car and my jewelry and my garden,who will take my box of jewelry after die.real story:there was a person who loved the money so much ,he did not want anyone to take his money even after his death,obsessed about his money, so he dipped it in oil and ate it finally he died due to complications .this is putting duniya in heart!
Some ppl lives are attached to parties, some ppl busy in shopping malls,some obsessed with gardens, some with their homes,another real story that happened in Kuwait : a young married lady who loved dancing ,especially at wedding parties.ppl were encouraging her also,so everyone knew her and ppl would wait for her to show up in parties, she would wear revealing clothes and would dance.at one such parties she came very skimpily dressed,she went to the floor and danced ,then she suddenly fell on the floor, she did not move so the ppl thought if they increased the volume of music she would wake up ,so the music was increased but still she did not move,then they realized that she was dead! Since she was in revealing clothes,they tried to cover her with a sheet but could not! Every time they would attempt to cover her,the cover would blow away, there was no wind nothing, so then they called her husband,he tried to cover her but could not,so they anyway took her for ghusul ,then when they took her for ghusul could not cover her again ,they asked shaykh what should we do the shaykh said put her in the grave like that.SubhanAllah.
Love of duniya,love of music,love of cinema, if the Malikul maut will come when you are in the cinema,do you have the gaurantee where you will die.husn al khatmah when you remember the death,it will make you a better human being u turn to Allah u repent to Allah.we need to remind ourselves,we need to appreciate Allah has given us this blessing,if you remember this then you will not be miserable but you will be a better human being,it will help u guard yourself.
Ibnu Abbas said that in youm al qiyamaah , they will bring the duniya in a form of ugly old blue lady with her tooth falling,face very ugly,,then ppl will be asked do u know this old lady,people will reply ,"no we don't know, never seen her" they will be told that this is 'duniya' you were fighting for .why are ppl in clinic looking sad as they are not getting what they want,or fighting over petty issues like why u made meat and not chicken,.you are fighting for this,whatever you follow in duniya it will follow you, enjoy the duniya moderately do it for the sake of Allah,do it moderately.love your children your husband all for the sake of Allah.if I lose my Deen then that is a problem.look at what you have in your hearts,love of duniya or aakhiraah.What will they get husn Husna billah.
5) Husn Bi Dhhanbillah: think good of Allah.
Prophet pbuh said that at time of death if you think good of Allah ,Allah will give me a good end,ya rabbi give me a good sakarat,how should our relation be with Allah, very good,what you think about Allah,HE will be like that.If you think Allah will be most merciful most kind and thi s is how you will find him.ArRahman Ar Rahim.
Some ppl think wrongly,one of the major sins of the heart which can lead to bad end.
Hadith - Allah says whatever you think of Allah you will find HIM like this.
For egs in life you can accuse yourself with the sins that you do ,but when you deal with Allah then you will ascribe the best attributes.
But if someone says that I am sad Allah did not give me children, i know Allah will not give me,HE never answers my prayers,this is an example of thinking bad of Allah,this is wrong !!.on the other hand if you say I am pleased with Allah's decree Allah is Kareem ,HE is the best Planner,then this will lead to good end.
Some ppl say that they are scared of DOJ,day of judgement,as they are told and informed only about punishment,horrors of grave,this will make them think bad, so we should not scare ppl but let them see the whole picture.
Example : abdullah bin haram was killed in battle of uhud,his son was jabir.then prophet pbuh said Allah spoke to your father,he speaks to everybody with a veil except Allah conversed with your father wout a veil.
Allah asked o my servant,talk to me what you want.so abdullah bin haram said give me life so that I will be killed again for the sake of Allah.he said i want to tell ppl.so Allah revealed the verse on shuhadaa.
Don't think that the ppl who die for the sake of Allah, but they are alive .....
Another person ,Hanzala : on the first wedding night after having relation with wife he heard the call for jihad ,so he immediately went for the battle and died in the condition of janaabaa,then the angels gave him the ghusul.( there is no ghusul for shuhadaa ,martyrs but since he was in janaabaa..)
Yesterday we talked about coffin,another story, a shaykh was called by the sons to do ghusul for the father,the shaykh asked where is he,the mayaat ,in the room,so the shaykh asked who will help me in doing his ghusul ,they showed him the coffin,it was made of pure silk,extremely expensive (600 dh per yard),so the man said it is not allowed to wear silk when alive, how can you make the mayaat wear silk, after a debate the sons finally agreed for the Shaikh to bring the ordinary kafann.So they said who will help me the sons said two Filipino women and the driver can help you as they did not want to help.so the man went to the room which was a ,marbled room,spotless,shining ,very clean,that man lying down ,covered,when The shaykh uncovered him, he could see he was full of ants,shaykh was shocked and wondered where it came from! The room was very clean,then he made duaa asked for Allah's help.so he washed but still ants coming out,subhana Allah he was covered with ants then the shaykh lated asked what happened ,who was the dead person ,he was informed that the dead man was extremely undutiful to the mother ! So remember always that Allah will ask about the huquq of people.
Had he been a non believer this would have been the beginning for something worse.may Allah give us the best of everything in aakhirah!
Then when they carried the janazah, this is the Haq of every Muslim on every other muslimeen.if it is a lady her husband and brother will carry.there should be silence when carrying janazah,should not say anything always be quiet,not saying Allah hu Akbar,this is wrong from sunnah.carry silently,and must hasten to take the janazah.don't take it slowly ,around the city driving around, this is against the sunnat nabi salaalaho alaihi wassalam.Also about taking the body from one country to another delays the burial,do not delay,by taking in plane it is a long procedure,hasten to bury.wherever a person died,bury him at the earliest.some ppl go talk to the body ,they ask forgiveness,this is not done, the person is dead , you cannot talk to him!
What should we do: we should ask forgiveness for him and make duaa for the dead,. We should not read Quran and say la ilahaaillah .this is wrong.prophet said hasten to carry it to grave the destination.There is no evidence when some say that body is light means good person, no proof,wrong.whatever is not sunah is a bidaa.
Salatul janazah can be prayed for sinners,if someone has debt and he died Salatul janazah can be done,what about baby,we can do Salatul janazah four months and more baby even in the womb...miscarriages happen, four months unborn baby, we must name the baby,as they will be called by that name on the day of qiyaamaah,give them ghusul and kaffan and proper burial.what about shaheed,some scholars say that Salatul janazah has to be done.some ppl pass away in far away land,then some ppl do Salatul ghaayb,so is this allowed or not! This is not allowed this was done by prophet pbuh once ,he did this for Najashi, only as he had no one to do it,so this was not a general rule.this is a bidaah!
For the munafiqeen ,we do not do Salatul janazah..
How to do Salatul janaazah,how to do it:
Face the qibla.the imam will stand where the body's head is in the case of a man.and if the dead person is a lady then the imam will stand in the middle.
How to perform a Salatul janazaah,
Four takbiraat and one salaam.
You say Allah hu Akbar: istiaadah and bismillah then say fatihah.
You say Allah hu Akbar : then Darood sharif
You say Allah hu Akbar: dua for the dead
Then say Allahu Akbar and say one salaam,that is all.
After the four tabirat then one Salam.all details provided in the book.
This is more in masjid haram.the salatal janazah is a duaa,after this we need to bury.
